CCK8002 is designed to provide an option for 8’ ceilings such that the fan is as close to the ceiling as possible without limiting the efficiency of the air movement. Yes, we obviously could have designed the kit shorter for a closer fit to the ceiling. Our airflow testing, during the development of this product, revealed that the current height provided the closest fit as possible while still provided sufficient airflow.
