Today's News: Go Yahoo! Yahoo’s co-founder David Filo, together with New York Governor David Paterson
and Senator Chuck Schumer announced plans to build the greenest and most
energy-efficient data centers in the world. Instead of purchasing carbon offsets that it announced in 2007, it will focus
its resources on reducing its carbon impact while helping the industry to do the
same. Filo noted the company would be “investing millions to design facilities
that make the best use of the energy we consume.”

Today's News: Here's a fascinating look beyond the advertising hype that consumers are buying into regarding 'saving energy' with compact florescent light bulbs.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, lighting in the U.S. accounts for 22% of electricity consumption and costs American’s $58 billion a year. If every
American home replaced just one light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb, it would save $600 million per year in energy costs and prevent
greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 800,000 cars. So to arrive on the scene to combat this problem came the CFL's (Compact Florescent Light Bulbs).
Unfortunately, info that reaches the public doesn't necessarily account for the complete life cycle of these new energy saving bulbs. Ends up - CFL's might just be neck and neck with the old fashioned incandescent's after all. See what you think. Click this link for this very interesting in-depth article.
